Who We Are
Holy Cross Children’s Services is one of the largest private, not-for-profit providers of children’s services in Michigan. The service portfolio includes residential campuses and group homes, charter schools, foster care homes, supervised independent living programs, day treatment and a variety of community-based services. HCCS has offices and service sites in Clinton, Detroit, Clinton Township, Redford, Saginaw, Mt. Morris, Traverse City, Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids. In addition, HCCS is the managing partner for Samaritan Center, Michigan’s largest one-stop social services and employment center, located on the east side of Detroit, and the managing partner for Kairos Healthcare, an adolescent and adult substance abuse facility in Saginaw, Michigan. HCCS provides services to approximately 650 children and families each day and a total of 2,600 per year, and employs about 450 coworkers dedicated to providing quality services aimed at helping children, youth and families to become self-sufficient. Holy Cross Children's Services was founded as Boysville of Michigan, Inc,. and was officially dedicated on October 24, 1948 by His Eminence Edward Cardinal Mooney with assistance of Bishops from Grand Rapids, Holy Cross Children's Services is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (C.A.R.F.) and is licensed to provide a variety of services by the Michigan Department of Human Services, which also contracts with the agency for service provision. HCCS is a proud member of the Michigan Federation for Children and Families and the Alliance for Children and Families. The agency’s growth over the past 60 years reflects the incredible commitment and support of our dedicated staff and the Michigan’s Knights of Columbus. |
